| Description |
An exciting opportunity has become available for a HR Consultant with a leading retailer. We are looking for an energetic, assertive self starter with a strong retail orientation to be part of the HR and Operations team. The successful incumbent for this challenging position will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining HR initiatives within head office.
Your functions would primarily involve:
Participate in and influence the HR strategy in alignment with operational HR and Business strategy through close partnership and involvement with the Operations Team
Provide a one-stop HR service to business through strong relationships with and ensuring efficient flow of information from specialist HR departments (Group HR)
Initiate, implement and manage Change within the business unit
Influence and implement Diversity Management as a business imperative (EE strategy)
Demonstrate sound knowledge and insight on legislative and compliance matters and provide frontline advice on IR issues
Manage the communication and understanding of HR policies and procedures and guide and monitor the implementation there of
Facilitate the availability of competent human resources to deliver the Business strategy through:
Involvement and guidance on relevant and appropriate recruitment practices;
Training needs and process assessment, development, implementation and evaluation;
Facilitating and presenting various Skills Development and Training initiatives;
Development and maintenance of in-store training material;
Facilitation of career & succession planning; and
Managing the Talent Management process.
Enable organisational performance and development through leadership development and employee engagement initiatives:
Co-ordinate, facilitate and administration of the Developing Manager Programmes;
Preparing, implementing and managing the Workplace Skills Plan; and
Manage and monitor the Performance Management process.
Effectively manage HR Administration (HR Reports, basic personnel files, IR files, etc)
Understand and envisage the needs of people, create the time and space to listen with understanding and influence win-win solutions for all stakeholders
Participate in Ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives
Requirements include:
Relevant Human Resources tertiary qualification (3 year degree or diploma)
Knowledge of applicable HR and Skills Development legislation
Proven experience as an HR generalist (at least 3-5 years)
A strong team-orientation with the ability to use own initiative
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
Flexibility and ability to cope with change
Excellent organisational, planning skills and attention to detail
An understanding of the retail business
Proven practical problem solving skills
